So.

Someone owes me money and they have since May. Every time I talked to them about it, they we're like I'll have it, I'll have it soon blahblah. Well, I've been trying to contact them since early July and I've had no replies to e-mails, IMs, texts, calls, nothing. Its not like they owe me five dollars, I was definitely more generous than I should have been...


Any advice for me? What would you guys do?

SO. My buddy derek (spiderinthesnow) chose these. Even though he says, "man i feel like i already know the story of most of your interests but here goes:" Haha.

1. being "motherly" I am told quite often that I am very "motherly." I enjoy taking care of people/animals and helping them in any way I possibly can.
2. critique So. I go to MCAD (Minneapolis College of Art and Design) and of course, when you create artwork -- there's always a critique. When I first started there, I absolutely hated it. However, as I went on and took more studio classes, I learned what a powerful tool critique is to me, my artwork, and my peers. A good, thoughful critique can do wonders for the improvement of the work and ideas being produced.
3. fonts I love fonts -- helvetica, especially.. ha. Anyways, when a font (even handwriting, for that matter) is done in a specific manner it can add so, so much to what the words are already trying to express.
4. organizing I think organizing is so exhilarating. It has a lot to do with the process and problem solving that goes into creating a organizational system that will work, continue to work, and boost whatever feeling you're trying to bring into that particular space whether it be productivity, happiness, etc.
5. vegetarian sushi Josh is the one that got me hooked on this. When he came here back in November, we went to Chino Latino. He ordered this and I ordered some rice. I was a little skeptical at first, but absolutely fell in love! Then for my birthday, Tristan took me to Chino and we shared that and had an awesome time and it was the best birthday ever. I also ordered it when I took Kurstin there on a gorgeous day before school ended. It's DELICIOUS and I associate it with good times.
6. trivia I love trivia, random facts, whatever.
7. ted leo/rx (i'm only bringing this one up to rub in the fact they're playing a free show in toronto on friday and i'm going and you're not :P) I think Ted is way attractive and makes good music. I am very jealous I can't go see him FOR FREE. Ughh.

Taking a break from homework.

And I will flail under these lights that seep down from the bitter sky tonight and I will kick and beat my wrists together and feel an ocean breathing waves, feel them licking at my face. Ceilings don't exist and there are no floors beneath me. If I were king of this night, would you become my queen? And I hope, Your Majesty, that you like your position. I'll do everything I can to keep you by my side and I'll stare off through the darkness to find us a kingdom. Just kiss me before I go. I'll have to walk a thousand miles just to find the ground deserving of your feet. You could throw me down and walk on me and I'd just look on through my love and through the haze. The nightingales are singing out. They're calling out our marriage to our subjects on their knees. Their jewelry is thrown into the air. They sigh at the release as their shackles hit the ground. The trumpets call out now.

We're home at last.

I had a weird dream last night. I don't remember all of it in sequence, but I remember bits and pieces.

I know it started off with me at the mall and I was looking at shoes and I came across a pair of black boots I liked. I tried them on and walked toward a mirror to see if I liked them, but the mirror was distorted and I had to find another one. Then I remember wearing this black dress... it was like leather and weird. Not crazy, just a very odd design... kind of space like. I ended up not buying the boots because I couldn't find a mirror to see how they looked in and left.

Next thing I remember, I got out of some guy's car - yellow Ford Focus hatchback thing - and started walking. As I started walking away he said, "Feel free to go through my junk yard!" So, I was walking and next thing I know I'm in a truck with my little sister. She had the window open and was changing the radio and some guy jumped half way through the window and tried to steal her soda. She didn't want to give it up, but I kept yelling, "Just give it to him!" The fight escalated and somehow we ended up on a box truck. The guy was hanging on to the side and I was driving all crazy trying to get him off. It didn't worked and he got his way into the truck, but his friend was still outside. The original driver of the truck was in the back trying to fight the guys off. He yelled, "HIT THE ORGANIC PEDAL" and so there was a pedal with a leaf on it and I pressed it down as hard as I could. All of a sudden we all heard, "OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT!?" and vegetable oil went everywhere.

WEIRD.

Boots

I don't know what is is, but I've been having a lot of dreams lately.

Last night I dreamt it was the first day of school. I was in a huge school with lots of artwork. I finally came to a group of girls - all of which went to my high school. We were talking and I kept looking outside - We were standing next to huge windows and it was snowing outside. This girl - Rachel [Who I also went to high school with] came up with short, short blonde hair and a huge hat on. Everyone began talking about it and finally it was time for class. I started walking away and ended up going through a hallway lined with lockers - most of which had artwork on the outside.. with a girl showing me artwork. They were all of triangles. She kept telling me how she wasn't able to draw, but her roommate could.

Then I woke up.

HAT

SNOW

I dreamt I was going to go somewhere with my friends. I got to the airport and sat around watching and talking with my friend when I realized I didn't have a ticket. I ran through the airport trying to find the ticket counter and my other friends. I finally found my other friends and I also saw a bunch of kids from my high school. I asked my friends where they bought their tickets from so I could get on the same flight and they didn't know. So, I borrowed someone's cell phone and kept trying to call Josh to ask him. Josh kept saying something and I couldn't understand. I was looking at a sign to find the word and logo he was talking about. It wasn't there and I kept digging through the brochures when I found it. I went to this desk right next to me with all this island-y kind of stuff on it and asked and they didn't know. So, I kept running and running and running and finally realized I wasn't going to get to go. I ran out of time. I was lost so I tried to find my way out to the train and me and this group of people [I remember a dad with glasses talking to his son], the hallways looked like they were from an ancient island .. and we walked until we found the elevator. We took the elevator to a train and I got on. I looked out the window and I just remember thinking, "Maybe I won't see the world." and I remembered I didn't drive and I couldn't remember how I even got to the airport. So, I called someone to get me and next thing I know, I was riding passenger seat with them trying to remember how I got to the airport and I started crying because I couldn't remember and my friends were gone. Then I woke up.


AIRPORT
